XY Questions To Ask Yourself and Have a Breakthrough.

The most successful people I know believe in themselves almost to the point of delusion. – Sam Altman

You don’t have to settle for status quo.

If you feel like you would like to do more, achieve more but you’re stuck in your daily routines, these questions are for you.

They are meant to disrupt your current thinking, move you to a higher level of performance and enjoy a completely different level of success.

They are meant for achieving major breakthroughs instead of incremental changes; growing your business 10x, changing your career path or moving to another country.

But to answer them and take action, you need to set goals that are your own, that are unlike anything you’ve done before and that scare you.

You need to feel passionate about these goals or at the least, care about them goals so that you commit.

Here are the themes and the questions (your goal can evolve while answering the questions):

Move from incremental to explosive change

Q What personal habit would you have to change that would dramatically increase your performance? (

Hint: the changes don’t include more struggle, effort or time but they are dramatically different. They also defy logic. e.g. merging one big company and one small company takes the same amount of effort as merging two big companies – Price Pritchett )

More Effort isn’t the answer

Q How much success has doing ‘more of the same’ brought to you?

(Hint: discipline and persistence are fundamental, but they bring incremental change.)

Step out of the conventional world

Q When was the last time you went against the conventions and tried something new?

(Hint: look for fresh perspectives that offer simple and elegant solutions.)

Break the self-limiting beliefs

Q If you aligned with your desires, what possibilities would emerge for you?

(Hint: instead of focusing on what you can have, focus on what you want.)

Suspend disbelief

Q How would you act if your success is guaranteed?

(Hint: have more faith in yourself than in your limiting beliefs.)

Paint a vivid picture of what you want

Q How does your final destination look like? Do you see it clearly?

(Hint: instead of developing a perfect plan, focus on the direction and allow ambiguity and messiness along the way.)

You don’t achieve things by yourself

Q How would you behave if you weren’t attached to the outcomes?

(Hint: recall one of your major successes, how did they occur, did you feel like you had to control everything.)

You can’t escape risk

Q What happens if you stay where you are, keep doing what you’re doing?

(Hint: you are always risking something, whether you stay where you, or bet on yourself – why not make a bet on yourself then.)

Take action

Q What percentage of your time do you spend on wishing versus acting?

(Hint: positive mental state is essential but passive; you have to actively pursue what you want.)

Allow yourself to make mistakes

Q How do you deal with mistakes and setbacks?

(Hint; doing new things is difficult and you will  inevitably face problems. Don’t give up, problems belong to the process.)

Courage eats fear for breakfast

Q How do you deal with fear?

(Hint; when you do something really new it’s always at the expense of some sense of security. Be prepared to feel scared and anxious at times but do it anyway.)

Unused potential

Q How often do you learn new things about yourself?

(Hint; see your potential as a gift to be opened.)

Inner drive

Q How passionate are you about your goal?

(Hint: you need to feel passionate about what you want to achieve; it’s also a test whether you really want something.)

Start moving

Q How long does it take you between an idea (goal) and an execution?

(Hint: don’t waste time with preparation. Act first and adjust as you go along.)
